Chicken rolls

Presentation

Chicken rolls are a very simple Italian dish that is prepared in an instant and is very tasty. You can stuff it with the ham and cheese you prefer and the result is always exceptional. Accompany it with a salad, cooked vegetables or fries for maximum indulgence.

Ingredients:

  • 400g of chicken breast steaks
  • 100g of ham (speck)
  • 100g of cheese (provola)
  • olive oil to taste
  • salt to taste

1 Pound the chicken breast steaks until they are about 3 or 4 mm thick and salt them lightly, 2 spread the ham on top leaving some space on the sides and 3 do the same with the cheese cut into slices or flakes.

Baking

4 At this point, roll everything starting from the narrowest part, taking care not to let the cheese come out during the operation. 5 When you have rolled up all the rolls, heat a little olive oil in a non-stick frying pan over medium heat and brown the rolls with the ends touching immediately so that the rolls stick together and remain closed. 6 When the joint is well browned you can start turning them.

End of cooking and plating

7 Once turned, insert a toothpick for each roll to keep it closed and serve as a support to brown it well on all sides. 8 When the chicken rolls are well browned, 9 remove the toothpicks and proceed with the plating.

Advise

  • If you prefer a lighter version you can fill them with cooked spinach that is not too moist and some fontina cheese.
